Turn Back the Clock with Epionce at Woodford Medical

It’s not possible to completely reverse the signs of ageing; it’s the process of life. However, you can slow it down by using treatments that help reduce the physical signs of ageing.
Cosmetically, wrinkles, and fine lines aren’t the only signs of aging, so anti-ageing treatments should address more than just those. Other cosmetic markers of aging of the skin include hyperpigmentation, dark spots, sunspots, and uneven texture and tone. All of these can make your skin look older, it’s important to address all skin concerns equally if you’re wanting to look and feel your best.
What happens to the skin during the ageing process?
There are two key factors in the ageing process: Intrinsic ageing: largely genetic and the body’s mechanism for defence and repair; and extrinsic factors: ultra violet light, pollution, smoking, alcohol, and other environmental factors. Our body is made up of millions of cells. These cells get replaced constantly as old cells die. They continue to multiply over and over again. However, a cell has a set number of times it can multiply before it dies. So, throughout the body, as more cells get damaged, you begin showing signs of ageing.
What happens to the skin during the ageing process?
Several things occur as a result of ageing: the outer layer becomes thickened and coarser, and the deeper layer loses collagen and elastin fibres which leads to wrinkling and folds. Unwanted pigmentation also starts to appear whilst small blood vessels can become more apparent in the skin. At a young age, your body is able to repair damaged cells. However, as you get older, the repair system is not as efficient as it once was.

Epionce – Award winning anti-ageing skincare
At Woodford Medical we deliver outstanding results with the award-winning Epionce skincare range. Epionce is built on the philosophy that skin barrier maintenance is fundamental to preventing skin ageing as it acts as a layer of protection from harmful environmental attack as well as retaining hydration. The Epionce renewal range has been formulated by their CEO Dr Carl Thornfeldt to firstly repair any damage to the lipid skin barrier and secondly dampen any chronic inflammation caused by excessive sun exposure, pollution from free radicals, as well as general age-related factors. Repair and maintenance are key to ensuring healthy, blemish free skin as well as protecting from further damage.
Renewal Facial Cream was the first product created by Dr Thornfeldt in the range and embodies the main therapeutic ingredients of Epionce, namely barrier repair, paired with anti-inflammatory technology. Noted for its superior moisturising benefits Renewal Facial Cream also helps strengthen and protect the skin whilst targeting fine lines and wrinkles to give a youthful, healthy glow. As with all Epionce products it is noncomedogenic (doesn’t block pores), paraben-free (no harmful chemicals), fragrance-free and produced using revolutionary botanical ingredients.
To complete this simple anti-ageing regime, we would recommend using a Lytic product, suitable for your skin type, prior to the Renewal Facial Cream followed by an SPF 50 product such as Tinted Daily Shield or Ultra Shield.
